Obituary for Bonnie Behlke Badwak
Bonnie L. Behlke Badwak, 65, of 817 Hickory St., Peckville, entered the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017.
Bonnie was born July 8, 1952, in Scranton, daughter of the late Robert W. and Jane McElhenny Behlke.
She was educated in the Scranton School District and graduated Scranton Technical High School class of 1970.
Before her retirement, Bonnie was employed as an executive secretary to the director of child daycare, Department of Public Welfare for the state of Pennsylvania.
Bonnie had many interests, especially baking. She had a love of music, and she shared her gift with many over the years. Bonnie was a kind-hearted, loving and generous person who served the Lord all of her days. She was an active member of the Moosic Alliance Community Church. In addition to volunteering at her church, Bonnie was a long-time Girl Scout volunteer, serving many years as troop leader.
She is survived by her loving husband of eight years, Gene Badwak; sister, Jane A. Behlke, Cape Cod, Mass.; brother, Robert H. Behlke and wife, Ellen, Wyoming, Pa.; niece, Dr. Dana L. Johnson, Hoboken, N.J., and husband, Robert, and their son, Maxwell; and nephew, Dr. George T. Behlke, Palmyra, Pa., and wife, Michelle.
A celebration of her life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, 436 Cedar Ave. with the Rev. Erik Ferguson, pastor of Moosic Alliance Community Church, as officiant. Interment in Dunmore Cemetery will be private. Friends may call Monday in the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service time.
