Frank Schindler of Scranton died at the Allied Hospice Center on Father’s Day Sunday June 17, 2018, and on his mother’s birthday.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Francis and Lillian Woodbridge Schindler. Frank’s aunt, Anna Scheller and sister Lillian was very special to him as they helped raise him after his mother died at an early age. She played in intricate part in his life and upbringing.
A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, prior to retirement he worked in the local food and beverage industry.
An avid outdoorsman, Frank enjoyed fishing and camping.
Frank’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and entire staff at the Allied Hospice Center for all of their kind and compassionate care.
Surviving are daughter Rebecca Schindler and companion Frank Dougherty; son Frank Schindler, all of Pittston; stepchildren Joey McNally and wife Shelly, Scranton, Tina McNally, Throop, and Jerry McNally, Moosic; grandchildren Cadence and Cambrie Dougherty; step-grandchildren Jazmine, Iviah, Savanna, Miranda, Robbie, and Jordan; sisters Lillian Petsko and husband Michael, Clarks Summit, and Elizabeth Parry, Springbrook; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brother-in-law Ralph Parry Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 6:00 pm in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton Friends and family may pay their respects Wednesday from 4:00 pm until service time. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Allied Hospice Center 511 Morgan Hwy, Scranton, PA 18508.
