Obituary for Angela Pettinato Coviello

Angela Pettinato Coviello of Scranton died Saturday at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She was the widow of Joseph Coviello who died March 25, 2008.
Born in Scranton January 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Saveria Cerminaro Pettinato.

Angela was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church until its closing, and a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.
Surviving is a daughter, Joanne Snopek; a son, Paul Coviello, and wife Toni; six grandchildren; Sasha Coviello, Lara Coviello, Kira Coviello, John Snopek Brian Snopek and partner Cursina and Jennifer Bellenzeni and husband Tony;
Twelve great-grandchildren Amanda, Healy, Rachel, Marina, Ashley, Olivia Snopek, Santo Cerminaro, Lola and Ariella Coviello, Eloise, Esme, and Tallulah Sullum and five great-great-grandchildren.

She devoted her life to being a wife, mother, homemaker, and Nana to everyone. She and Joe lived with and cared for her parents in North Scranton. During the summers, Angie, Joe, her parents and children retreated to their cottage on Chapman lake where cherished memories were made. Later in life, she liked to make sure Mohegan Sun did not run out of money. She would stop in regularly to donate. More importantly she donated her time at church and participated in many church activities. She loved to feed her family, and was an insistent hostess. Everyone had to eat. She also volunteered at Meals on Wheels. Always giving, she touched many lives, and a little bit of her goodness rubbed off on everyone who knew or met her.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, 436 Cedar Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday (today) from 4-7 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marley’s Mission, 2150 Port Royal Rd., Clarks Summit, Pa. 18411.
