Leon C. Kuhns, 90, of South Scranton formerly of Whitehall died Wednesday January 16, 2019 at the Scranton Healthcare Center following a brief illness. His wife of 64 years is the former Fern M. Kuntz.

Born in Whitehall, he was the son of the late Clarence and Cora Hunsicker Kuhns.
A graduate of Whitehall High School class of ’46, Leon proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed overseas in France during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement he was employed for over 30 years at Western Electric, Allentown. Leon also had an avid interest in WWII history and aircraft, and loved his hobby of building and flying radio controlled model airplanes.
Also surviving are son Brian Kuhns, Scranton, sisters Lorraine Schneck, Schnecksville, and Elaine Frantz, Whitehall; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Beatrice Gogel.
A private graveside service will be held in the Union Cemetery in Slatington at the convenience of the family.
