Born July 12, 1950 in Scranton, PA, son of Dorothy J. (Goetz) and the late Ralph M. Stipp, he graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1968. He worked as a Ford certified master mechanic for Koerner Ford for 25 years and was a partner/owner of Long Life Spring for the past 28 years.

He was very proud of earning his Eagle Scout rank. He was a founding member of the Villa Capri Cruisers and on the board of directors, he loved cars from a young boy, loved drag racing with his son, and body building at Peffer’s gym. He was an avid powerlifting coach to many. Dave enjoyed disco and it could always be heard playing in his truck. His favorite sports team was the Steelers and he watched many a game in his Steeler’s gear.

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by his son, David Aaron and wife Melissa, Dunmore, PA, his mother Dorothy (Goetz) Stipp, York, PA, a brother, Allan and his wife Donna Stipp, Bethel Park, PA, a sister, Ellen and her husband, Eric Chase, York, PA; three grandchildren, Dante, Isabella and Thomas, and several nephews and a niece. Our condolences to the Stipp family. I called Dave on a Sunday once, when our son in the Navy had a problem with his truck. Dave told me to bring it down first thing Monday morning. He had it fixed and our son back on the road to Virginia before 12:00. He was great! He always treated my family fairly. Our prayers are with you all.

Long, long ago, I was in the best Cub Scout Den in the world with David. His mother Dorothy was the the Best Den Mother in the world and we spent great times at her kitchen table along with little brother Allan. Years later, our paths crossed again when our Dads were across the hall from each other in a local nursing home.
We shared the joy of our youth and the sorrow of the passing of these great men.
My condolences ti Dorothy, who will always be my Den Mother, and the Allan, who will always be the "little brother".
