Vincent Darbenzio, 78, of South Scranton died Friday November 6, 2020 at the Allied Hospice Center following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Grady Darbenzio.

Born in Pittston he was the son of the late Liberty and Anna Darbenzio. A graduate of Pittston Area High School, he proudly served in the United States Army. Prior to retirement he worked for Sandvik Steel for over 36 years.
Vince loved classic cars and had several of his own that he enjoyed. He loved taking them to all the local car shows where he had won some awards for them as well. When not at a car show, he enjoyed going to the 606 Club to be with friends and play pool where he was also on a traveling pool league and played all over the area. Vince had a love for the local auctions and went at every chance he had. He loved to be around family and friends and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Surviving are daughter Catherine Darbenzio and husband John Hitchcock, Mayfield; son Christopher Darbenzio and companion Alyssa; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sister Gina Russo; brother Liberty Darbenzio; step-brother Dino Darbenzio.
He was preceded in death by sons Vincent and James Darbenzio; sister Shirley Grabosky.
A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 6 pm in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton. Friends and family may pay their respects from 4 pm until service time. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced and masks are required.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
