Ruth Bohrer Andres journey of 99 years ended April 17, 2021 at the Allied Skilled Nursing Center. She was married for 62 years to the late Girard T. Andres who died on May 13, 2007.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Hilda Lidle Bohrer. She was a gracious, warm, and loving person, whose greatest pride and joy was her family and home. Ruth will always be remembered for her kindness to others and gentle ways. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; showing them that they were the most important thing in her life by constant acts of selfless giving. Her spirit lives on and always will. The times she laughed, gave advice, or just listened, echo in the memories of those whose life she touched. And in being so remembered, her legacy will live on.
While the flame that was may have been extinguished, her memory can live on through the deeds of all of us left. Ruth was the heart and soul of her family and its best friend.
Surviving are her children, daughters Carol Cappelloni and husband Frank, Scranton, and Nancy Brinkac and husband Michael, Virginia; son Girard Andres and wife Pattiann, Florida; sister Shirley Gloman, Virginia; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Paul Bohrer of New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held privately. There will be no public calling hours.
