Paul W. Powell of Clarks Summit died Wednesday April 21, 2021 at home following a brief illness.

Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Phil and Mary Powell.
A graduate of Wilson High School, he proudly served in the United States Army. Prior to retirement he was employed for many years at the Medical Arts Building and the Jewish Community Center.
Paul was a proud veteran who continued to help those in need throughout his life. He enjoyed arts & crafts as well as shuffle board and spending time with his friends from his apartment building. He could fix anything and was always there to help. He was an old school gentleman who was always the best dressed in town.
Surviving are sons, Richard P. and wife Cindy, North Carolina, Gary R., Scranton, Charles M. and wife Nicole, Gregory A. Powell, all of Scranton; daughters, Janice L. Viccica, Scranton, Gloria J. Moore and husband Thomas, Taylor, Robin Igoe and husband Bill, Scranton, Julie Powell, Florida; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son Paul D. Powell; siblings Janice, Nancy, Jean, Phil Jr., Melba; former wife and best friend Sylvia Powell.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a later date.
